Question:
From Ohio, USA:
Can you get better control with an insulin pump than you can with multiple daily injections?
Answer:
Provided that you are working with a diabetes care team that has
a lot of experience with both pumps and intensive insulin regimens there
really isn't much to choose between the two approaches. Most centers
start off with multiple injection regimens and if that goes well move on
to a pump for those that want the freedom from injections. You do need to
be sure of quite a lot of telephone support in the early stages though.
