Question: Do you know of any health concerns related to eating dextrose? Any info would be welcome.
Answer:
Dextrose is a form of sugar. Eating dextrose (or in other words, eating sugar) may:
- Raise the blood sugar level, especially in people with diabetes.
- Cause obesity if too much is consumed.
- Cause dental problems if dental care isn't adequate.
[Editor's comment: Eating sugar does not cause Type 1 diabetes. JSH.]
