Question: From Texas, USA: I am a recently diagnosed type 1 diabetic, and have been using Humalog for several weeks. I realize Humalog is relatively new, but is there a chart (or how do I calculate) that predicts the unused insulin in your system after a given time has passed? Answer: Look at Humalog® (Lispro Insulin) for general info on lispro insulin, and What is Insulin? for a chart of average durations of insulins. Clearly everybody's different, so you'll have to check a lot of blood sugars to figure out the duration for your own case. WWQ Original posting 2 Aug 97
