Question: I first learned about inhalable insulin from my son's endocrinologist several months ago. Then I read a small snippet in Newsweek about this possibility. I know this is not a cure but is it a realistic possibility in the near term? Do you know anything more about this? Answer: This is definitely a "wait and see" issue. There's been work done on and off on inhaled insulin for years and so far it's all been unsuccessful. KJR Original posting 10 Jan 98
