Question: From Connecticut, USA:
I was wondering how Type I diabetics, also those with hyperthyroidism, handle their diabetes when the thyroid is out of control.
Answer:
Poorly. When the thyroid is out of whack, whether hypothyroid (underactive) or hyperthyroid (overactive), it messes up the body's metabolism pretty dramatically. The blood sugar levels will be difficult to control until the thyroid underactivity or overactivity is successfully controlled.
