Question:

From Prospect Park, New Jersey, USA:

Is it true that if you get a great impression or something unexpected happens, it will cause your sugar to go up?

Answer:

Stress in life stimulates the liver to release its stored sugar and can result in a rise in blood sugars. I had a patient who lost his job and his blood sugar climbed to 750! This is an extreme example, but one that illustrates the point well.
