Question: From Colchester, UK: Is there any other condition which would show similar symptoms to diabetes mellitus in a 7 year old girl? Answer: Symptoms of diabetes: Drinking too many fluids Passing excessive amounts of urine - including during the night Weight loss Lethargy A full house of the above can really only be diabetes. However, many children habitually drink too much juice or milk and so pass a lot of urine. The difference is that they are otherwise totally healthy and, obviously, don't have sugar in their urine.
