Question:

From Birmingham, Alabama:

My 3 year old daughter has had Type 1 diabetes for 15 months. We are considering placing her on the pump. The problem is that we would need diluted Humalog for her basal rate. We have heard of a buffer for Humalog but don't know where to get it. Any suggestions?

Answer:

To my knowledge, there is no diluent available for Humalog. I would speak to your daughter's diabetes care team for advice about the pump and insulins.
