From Staten Island, New York, USA:
My 9 year old was diagnosed last year. What is the future of pancreatic islet cell transplants? What age? Success? Who can donate? I would, and deal with the complications if possible.
All of your questions have been asked and answered previously in the pages of Children with Diabetes.
Overall, it is fair to say that you should not consider islet cell transplants for your daughter because they are still very experimental.
