Question:

From Brainerd, Minnesota, USA:

I believe that my daughter may have diabetes, but I'm not familiar with the symptoms at such an early age. Is it possible to get diabetes before the age of one?

Answer:

Unfortunately it is possible to get diabetes at this age. Typically these little ones will "fall off their growth curves." If you're concerned, ask your physician to check a fasting blood sugar.
