From the UK:

My friend is diabetic and has started smoking. He says that every time he has a cigarette his head starts spinning and he doesn't think its normal. He's tried to quit but he can't. What are the complications of smoking with diabetes and does a cigarette have any different effects on diabetics?

Smoking causes cancer, emphysema, heart disease, and poor blood supply to the small vessels. It rots the body, it stinks, and it's expensive.

The effects of smoking are even worse for people with diabetes, as the problems of heart disease and poor blood supply are already present in many people who've had diabetes for a long time.
