Question:

From Perth, Australia:

What's the diet plan for a 12-year old girl suffering from insulin dependent diabetes?

Answer:

Probably the best idea would be to talk with your diabetes educator and obtain instruction on a diet that will promote growth and flexibility, yet do so within the context of when the insulin is peaking. We oftentimes use carbohydrate counting in combination with the Exchanges for Diabetes.
