Question:

From Medina, Ohio, USA:

My son is almost 3, and was diagnosed a year ago. Should he have the Chicken Pox vaccination? Also when should he get the flu shot?

Answer:

I know of no contraindication for chicken pox in children with diabetes.

Flu shots, if this is the first, get two and time the dose to maximize the flu season where you live. Discuss with your son's pediatrician.
