Question:

From North Wales, UK:

My daughter was diagnosed type 1 at the age of 16 months. I have heard that people with type A blood group are more likely to develop diabetes -- I am A+ and my wife is A-. Is is possible that this has caused my daughter's diabetes and am I or my wife more likely to develop type 2 diabetes because of this?

Answer:

The genetics of diabetes are much more complex than association with blood type. The answers to your questions are "no" and "no".
