Question:

From Ames, Iowa, USA:

My overnight fasting glucose, measured by glucose oxidase meter, varied between 120 and 128 for the past three months. Seems to be borderline level. I exercise heavily every day.

Is the high glucose worrysome?

Answer:

These fasting levels certainly seem to be high but you need also to look for glucosuria and to get a fasting glucose meaured in a clinical laboratory. If the high levels are confirmed you will need to consult your doctor about further plans.
