From North Carolina, USA:
Much has been written about the effect of food on blood sugar. Can you tell me if food can affect the amount of insulin our bodies produce? A 30 year-old female friend was just diagnosed and I'm trying to learn all I can.
Since the body requires insulin to process all foods appropriately, yes, the amount of food we eat will affect the amount of insulin we produce. The blood sugar levels trigger the pancreas to release insulin or to stop it.
