Question: From New York, New York, USA: I am 26 years old and was diagnosed 5 weeks ago with Type 1. Since then I have gotten my sugar level under tight control. Sometimes my feet get cold and fall asleep even though the weather is warm outside. Should I be worried? Answer: Don't get too concerned. However, to be on the safe side, ask your doctor to check for the possibility of an underactive thyroid gland.
