From Syracuse, New York, USA:
Is there evidence that indicates whether a diet with lots of sugar and refined food will precipitate the onset of diabetes in those who already have a hereditary predisposition or have an indication of the antibodies in their blood?
None of scientific interest. Actually, some years ago, some ecological associations between the risk for Type 1 diabetes and nutritional factors such as coffee as well as sugar intake were described (when combined with cow's milk, this led towards the so-called "cappuccino" hypothesis), but these have not had any further validation.
