Question:

From America On-Line:

I have Type 1 Diabetes and use an insulin pump. How would I go about bolusing for alcohol?

Answer:

Make sure you eat when consuming the alcohol, and bolus based on the carbohydrates in the food. Since a low blood sugar is usually the main worry with alcohol, take a bedtime snack and avoid sleeping late the next morning. If you do drink, drink responsibly!
