Question:

From Amman, Jordan:

How we can prevent hypoglycaemia?

Answer:

Assuming you are asking about avoiding hypoglycaemia in the context of diabetes, there are three basic rules:

  • Always take the correct insulin dose
  • Always eat an appropriate amount of carbohydrate with every meal and snack
  • Always take extra carbohydrate for extra exercise
The detail of this has to be worked out for each individual and you will get more information from your doctor/diabetes nurse. Also see all the information on this and other websites about dietary tips/advice.
