Question: From Virginia, USA: Is there a higher rate of Type 1 diabetes developing in the off-spring of a family with a known history of alcoholism? Several people have told me of circumstances where their daughter or son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and that their father, mother, or grandparents were alcoholics.
