Question:

From Tucson, Arizona, USA:

My son is 11 years old. He has been diabetic for almost 3 years. I was wondering if there are any natural remedies to help control his blood sugar levels.

Answer:

Your son almost certainly has Type 1A (autoimmune) diabetes for which the treatment is insulin. There are no 'natural' substitutes.

Additional comments from Dr. Robertson:

In terms of therapeutic interventions -- NO. However, fruit and vegetables are natural remedies that go a long way to making a balanced diet - the more the merrier. Sorry.
