Question:

From Victoria, British Columbia, Canada:

My 12 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 6. He is having problems with his complexion and his doctor has prescribed topical remedies which are not helping. Does his diabetes mean that he is unable to use oral remedies?

Answer:

It depends on what remedies are used as to whether they may interfere with his diabetes control. It is worth discussing this with your diabetes team.
