Question:

From Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA:

Do you have any information on using a heart rate monitor to monitor or catch hypoglycemia in children or adults with type 1 diabetes?

Answer:

I have no knowledge of this and although the idea is interesting I don't think it would work. Heart rate varies continuously with activity and the change in early hypoglycemia would be lost in normal variability.
