Question: From Traverse City, Michigan, USA: I'm 39 and just found out I'm a diabetic. I'm interested in the Schwartzbien Principle. I'm running up against major resistance with this doctor's theories. Could I please have your opinion? Answer: A rather Messianic approach to the dietary management of Type 2 diabetics emphasizing complex carbohydrates. Not in any way an adequate substitute for care by a good diabetes team; but might appeal to some people who need to feel part of a crusade.
