Question:

From Kentucky, USA:

At 5 years of age in 1956 I had and recovered from a bout with polio. In my teen years I was hypoglycemic. At the age of 40 I was diagnosed with what was thought to be type 2 diabetes. Now I find that I am late adult onset type 1. Is there any connection between polio and diabetes later in life?

Answer:

No direct link that I know of.
