Question: From British Columbia, Canada: I heard recently that it is now possible to replace insulin injections with a pill, but trials could only able be started in a couple of years. Is this true? If so, why can the trial only be started in a couple of years? Answer: Type 1 diabetes is an insulin dependent condition and, at present, the only way to reliably give insulin is by injection.
