Question:

From Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada:

It is early morning. I am a Registered Nurse presently at work. The question came up as to which insulin to give first, the cloudy, or the clear. I was taught it doesn't make a difference, and I just looked into my text book and it doesn't answer that question.

Answer:

Most authorities would suggest drawing up the clear insulin first and then adding the cloudy insulin. You might also check out www.uchsc.edu/misc/diabetes/chap8.html for further details regarding the delivery of injected insulin.
