Question:

From Massachusetts, USA:

I have had diabetes for 28 years and many, many hairdressers have told me that insulin that is in the scalp causes perms not to take on people with diabetes. Could you check into that for me?

Answer:

I have never heard of insulin treatment interfering with perms. I know many people on insulin who have had perms with no problems.
