Question: From the British Isles:
Our 12 year old daughter has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just 2 months ago. I smoke. Will this cause her any harm?
Answer:
First of all, passive smoking is harmful to your daughter independently to diabetes. Secondly, it can accelerate her risk towards microvascular complications of the disease. Last, but not least, it is dangerous to your own health and you need to stay in good health to help your daughter. I hope you can stop smoking.
