Question:

From Massachusetts, USA:

Do you have any knowledge of any diabetologists who treat Type 1 diabetics who are also vegans (for 22 years)? My primary care physician is no longer practicing.

Answer:

Being a vegan shouldn't pose any major problems with diabetes treatment nor with finding a good diabetologist. Figuring out glycemic excursions and insulin needs remains the same problem with or without meat in the food you are eating.
