Question: From Russia, Moscow:
I'm diabetic type 1 for 16 years, now 31 years old, female. My nails on my hands are splitting and cracking all the time in spite of consistent adoption of the best vitamin-mineral complexes. Is it associated with nerve damage? No one doctor here can give me an answer.
Answer:
Multiple and varied skin lesions may be associated with diabetes besides nerve damage, but I'm not aware of any association of diabetes with fragile nails.
