Question: From East Syracuse, New York, USA:
My 10 year old daughter has type 1 diabetes for over 9 years. Besides your typical children's vitamins and eating a healthy well balanced diet, are there any other supplements you would recommend?
Answer:
In the past, claims have been made for chromium and magnesium supplements; but there is little evidence that they would be of any value to an 10 year old girl with Type 1A (autoimmune) diabetes; just concentrate on good control. It sounds as though you are both doing fine.
