Question:

From Kansas City, Missouri, USA:

I had a call from a 19 year old type 1 who said she gets a funny taste in her mouth when she has a low. She asked her diabetes nurse and she more or less blew her off. Do you know of anyone complaining of a funny/odd taste in their mouth after a low?

Answer:

There are a number of unusual symptoms of low blood sugars. Although I've not heard of having a funny taste as a sign of a low blood sugar, I certainly don't doubt it.
