Question:

From Franklin, Massachusetts, USA:

I recently cleaned out a cabinet and found five unopened boxes of lancets and 200 test strips for a brand of meter that we no longer use. Is there someplace that I can donate these to? I would hate to throw them away as the cost of these supplies is so high.

Answer:

If you have extra diabetes supplies that are unopened and within their expiration date, I suggest that you contact your local American Diabetes Association or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation office and ask about where you might donate the supplies. You might find a local homeless shelter, for example, would be willing to take the supplies.
