Question: From Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada:
I am 25 and have type 1 diabetes. I have just come down with chickenpox. Are there any special precautions I should take?
Answer:
During any illness, I would suggest checking your blood sugars more frequently and ketone testing if you have any abdominal pain, vomiting or unexplained high blood sugars. There are no "special" precautions I'm aware of for chicken pox and diabetes.
