Question: From Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada: I am 25 and have type 1 diabetes. I have just come down with chickenpox. Are there any special precautions I should take? Answer: During any illness, I would suggest checking your blood sugars more frequently and ketone testing if you have any abdominal pain, vomiting or unexplained high blood sugars.
