Question:

From Leeds, West Yorkshire, England:

My husband, who has insulin controlled diabetes, was offered acupuncture to help with pain management for a slipped disk which has caused sciatica. He was informed that the acupuncture could lower his blood sugar. Is this correct?

Answer:

I have never heard of this before but would be fascinated to know if it happens. I wonder if what they are saying is that relief of pain will result in a reduction in stress and thereby a lowering in blood sugars -- this is entirely feasible.
