Question: From Eden, North Carolina, USA:
Will an antibacterial hand sanitizer/cleaner that is used without water, interfere with accurate blood glucose results?
Answer:
You've asked a very good question. When cleaning the skin before a fingerstick, it's important, no matter what you're using, to make sure the area is dry before poking the finger. Any liquid left on the finger can interfere with the blood sugar results.
