Question: From Belarus:
Can my son (type 1 for two years) use insulins from different manufacturers? For example, Protofan (Novo-Nordisk) and Humalog (Lilly).
Answer:
There should be no problem.
[Editor's comment: Ideally, two brands should not be mixed in the same syringe. The preservatives may be somewhat different and might cause interactions that could alter the action of the insulin. However, I have seen two brands mixed without difficulty. SS]
