From Redondo Beach, California, USA:
What would cause insulin resistance in a 34 year old woman with type 1 diabetes that has been under control for four years?
Insulin resistance is inherited. People with insulin resistance have a tendency to be overweight with a "pot belly". They have a tendency to hypertension, elevated lipids and also diabetes. Since aging contributes, time is the enemy.
I firmly believe a person can get "both" types of diabetes.
