Question: From South Africa:
My husband has just been diagnosed with diabetes at age 46. He also has hypertension. We follow a no fat, plenty of low glycemic index carbohydrate diet. Is this correct?
Answer:
I guess your husband has type 2 diabetes. I assume that this meal plan was prescribed by a dietitian (it should have been). If this is the correct case, the diet he is following is most likely correct. I hope you're doing all this along with your diabetes team because diabetes care is not only a diet.
