Question:

From Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

My 31 year old sister-in-law had gestational diabetes. Her son was born with impaired vision. She is claiming that this is due to stress which raised her blood sugar during her seventh month. Is it possible that his impairment was caused by this?

Answer:

I have never heard of any association of impaired vision in a baby and high blood sugars during pregnancy.
