Question: From Indiana, USA:
I do not have diabetes, but my doctor put me on Glucophage because I have a problems with my periods, and I am wanting to have a baby. Have you ever heard of Glucophage making you more fertile?
Answer:
Glucophage [metformin, a pill for type 2 diabetes] has been used in treating infertility in women with polycystic ovarian disease [a disorder with insulin resistance]. Supposedly, by decreasing the insulin resistance, the frequency of ovulation is increased.
