Question: From Plattsburgh, New York, USA:
How does diabetes affect a person mentally?
Answer:
Like any other chronic disease, diabetes first comes as a shock. As you begin to familiarize yourself with diabetes, you may feel frustration, sadness, anger, and a myriad of other emotions. Mentally, diabetes does not make you less intelligent or less able than any other individual. Fluctuations in blood sugar may impact your mood from time to time, but diabetes does not make you mentally impaired.
