Question:

From Vero Beach, Florida, USA:

My six year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a year ago, and this week he was diagnosed with ADHD. He will be starting on a medication for the ADHD this weekend. He hasn't a clue as to what is going on, but I am feeling totally overwhelmed.

Answer:

The medication should have no significant effect on his diabetes. There are multiple great resources for learning more about ADHD that are available through your son's pediatrician office.
