Question:

From Manchester, the United Kingdom:

At present, I treat my diabetes by diet alone, but it looks as though I might have to go onto tablets. Since I drive for a living, I am very concerned because I understand that certain tablets will affect your driving license and others will not. Is that true and what are they?

Answer:

As far as I am aware, you need to declare that you have diabetes on your license. You should mention this to your general practitioner who will be able to give you the legal details.
