Question:

From Austin, Texas, USA:

I heard that taking chromium picolinate supplements help people with diabetes. Is this true? If so how much should be taken daily?

Answer:

Chromium has been stated to have properties which benefit the control of patients with diabetes. The only studies I know of to have beneficial effects were at toxic doses. Lower and safer doses have not been beneficial. I would not emphasize the benefit of routine chromium supplementation to patients with diabetes.
