Question:

From the state of Washington, USA:

My grandfather had cancer of the pancreas. Is it possible I will get diabetes?

Answer:

I know of no relationship of diabetes to pancreatic cancer in the sense you are asking. I would expect that your (and your grandfather's) risk of diabetes to be related to other genetic factors, diabetes in the family, as well as personal risk factors, weight, etc.
