Question:

From Poitiers, France:

I am 33 and have had type 1 diabetes for three years. I am 1 meter, 78 centimeters tall, and weigh 75 kilograms, and my insulin daily needs are between 25 units to 35 units (Humalog via insulin pump). Does this mean I have type 1B?

Answer:

Your insulin requirements cannot completely classify your type of diabetes. This is not an exceptionally large dose of insulin.
