Question:

From Garwood, New Jersey, USA:

How accurate is a blood sugar test on a sample taken six months ago, but kept refrigerated? Would the levels change from the day it was taken?

Answer:

The result on testing blood glucose in a six month old sample would be meaningless. There would probably be no glucose in the sample as the glucose is used up by the blood cells.
